Putting code in small sections has advantages except when you want only one particular piece. It took some time to follow the yellow brick road through the various files. Not your fault that I was asked to add a news 'ticker' to an already complex page. It's working well but IE is doing some weird stuff that I can't figure out. It will not accept a background image (love dragonkeep, by the way) and will only use the specified background color where there is text. So you see white areas in a dark green setting - eeeesh. Here's where you can find the page I used it on. http://holycrosshs-ct.com/htmlnew/homepage.html It shows our new look. Use IE and you'll see 1) it loads all the (large) slides in serial form until it 'discovers' they are shown as slides. 2) a white blob in the mockup news window. There is a list of contributers to that page's code and a discovery that in programming it really does take a village.

Excellent little utility

This is a superb little programme. When i had sky installed i was dismayed to find the 'up to eight meg broadband' was in fact just over 1 meg. Browsing the sky forums i found a recommendation for tcp optimiser.On downloading and running the programme my broadband speed shot up to just over 7 meg and has been consistent and reliable ever since. I have recommended this to lots of people and a lot have found a great increase in their broadband speed. I cannot recommend this programme highly enough, it is a small download and very easy to use. Try it, you won't regret it.

Free Desktop Clock 2.2 works as you might expect. It is an alternative to the standard system tray clock with a few user tunable features. Essentially it offers the user a limited variety of skins (many of which I found unappealing or extremely hard to read) and the ability to display the date and time, seconds too. That's about it. It's not really what you might call fancy, by any stretch of the imagination, but it functions well and is an alternative to the standard system clock.

Yuck - not helpful

I couldn't figure this program out. The "sample.zip" folder that opened confused me because it wouldn't allow me to manipulate any of the files in it, and when I tried to open another file it said it didn't work. I was looking for a program to extract audio from an mpeg video file, but this to say the least did none of that.

I'm a moderately intelligent computer user -- I can usually figure out most programs just by opening them up, particularly in the audio/video field. I'm not sure if I'm the weak link in this chain or what.

a VERY slick clock app - handy and attractive

I just downloaded ClocX 1.5b2 yesterday and really enjoy having it. Although I've got the system tray clock and even work in a command center with a very large, 8 timezone world clock nearby, I have a preference for this little application. I like the choice of skins and other options.

In addition, in a tech savvy but corporate toned environment ClocX generates a nice touch of "Wow!" to my desktop without looking out of place.

NOT WORTH THE DOWNLOAD!

They bill this as freeware but put so many limitations on it that it isn't usable unless you buy the more expensive product. The picture directory printed out but had "DEMO VERSION" on all of the pages, making them totally useless. The GUI was archaic and reminded me of some of the old Windows 3.1 programs from 20 years ago.

I'm just glad that the "uninstall" option worked like a charm.

Software could not read the disk. Software also has no uninstall feature, so to get rid of it, you must manually delete it, then manually clean your registry of it.

Problems and suggestions

I used it only a few times. I like the simple appearance and that it works from left to right AND from right to left. Found 1 problem (bug?) and have a wish (suggestion)

1. Problem: click drop down menu "help" - help window opens. I want "area", go to "2 Select some matching words," select "Area". Click "Display". The help window disappears!

2. For inches, it would be very nice to use (or at least have the option to use) fractions, 3/4, 9/16, 7/32. Nobody uses decimals with inches, the user has to convert the decimal to fraction.

3. Some popular units seem to be missing, like ft lb for energy. I know it can be added, but it should be part of the standard package.

It's a very good tool for viewing and copying files from a linux fs, however, sometimes its a bit cumbersome to some things (like the copy thing). Nevertheless it's only cumbersome and not annoying, so i like the tool.

After downloading a few other dvd organizers, I was lucky enough to come across Movienizer, now the others have been uninstalled and I use only this fantastic program, I installed the program in my 4 Gig memory stick so I can take it where ever I go and when I buy a new dvd I can easily update my collection. It is a wonderful tool, not only to keep track of my personal library, but for friends to read about the movie content, ratings etc before making a choice on what is suitable for their families to watch.
It is easy to use adding a movie is a breeze, Hint - if no results come from a search, insert the dvd and then search again and you will usually be lucky enough to find the movie title in the list.

It is easier to Add a movie rather than removing an existing one.
